Overview

The Faculty of Islamic Psychology at AMISUN redefines mental and emotional well-being through the integration of Qur’anic principles, prophetic wisdom, and modern psychological science. Its approach views the human being not as a biological mechanism but as a spiritual-intellectual entity endowed with *fitrah* — the innate disposition toward truth.

This faculty produces scholars, therapists, and researchers capable of addressing global mental health challenges through compassion, ethics, and spirituality. Every course and research activity emphasizes moral integrity, self-awareness, and the harmony between mind, body, and soul.

Departments

1. Department of Counseling & Therapy

Dedicated to preparing faith-based counselors equipped with clinical and spiritual tools to support individuals and families. Students learn cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma healing, and *ruqyah*-based approaches aligned with Islamic ethics.

2. Department of Behavioral Science & Research

Focused on studying human behavior through both empirical research and scriptural insight, this department explores motivation, learning, personality, and emotional regulation from an Islamic paradigm — restoring balance to the human psyche.

3. Department of Spiritual Well-Being & Islamic Psychotherapy

This department combines classical *tazkiyah al-nafs* (purification of the soul) with modern clinical psychology. Students learn to integrate mindfulness, prayer, and *dhikr* as therapeutic processes that lead to holistic healing and moral rehabilitation.
