Dear Students, Families, and Friends,

The establishment of the American Islamic University (AMISUN) is a pledge to the present and a gift to the future. We exist to serve those who seek knowledge today—and those who are not yet born, but will one day inherit the fruits of our labor.

For too long, talented Muslim youth and devoted scholars have lacked the pathways to gain degrees that reflect their depth of study and allow them to stand among the recognized intellectuals and leaders of the world. AMISUN was founded to bridge this gap: to nurture highly trained scholars, thinkers, and professionals of the highest rank.

Our Goal and Promise

We promise to build an institution where classical Islamic knowledge is honored, where modern disciplines are embraced, and where faith-based scholarship is carried with dignity into the highest circles of academia and society. This is not just for today’s students, but for generations to come.

AMISUN is more than a university—it is a charity of knowledge (ṣadaqah jāriyah), one that will continue spreading benefit long after we are gone, insha’Allah.

America as a Platform for Islamic Scholarship

The United States provides one of the greatest blessings to our mission: religious freedom and open dialogue. This country has created space for voices of faith to be heard, for cultures to interact, and for truth to be pursued. AMISUN is committed to introducing the world to Islam in its authentic form—rooted in Qur’an and Hadith, while respecting the diversity of Islamic schools of thought.

We do not endorse one sect over another. Instead, we teach all traditions honestly and historically, giving our students the knowledge and freedom to find the path that best reflects their identity and conscience.

Openness to All Faiths and Cultures

AMISUN warmly welcomes students of all faiths, nationalities, and cultures. Our mission includes promoting a deeper understanding of Islam, the Holy Qur’an, and the life and message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) not only for Muslims but also for non-Muslims who seek clarity, knowledge, and dialogue.

By offering accredited degree programs to all qualified learners, AMISUN provides a platform for interfaith understanding, breaking stereotypes, and reducing dependence on Arabic-speaking scholars as the sole interpreters of Islamic knowledge.

While da‘wah (Islamic outreach) and imamic certification are reserved for Muslim scholars, all other academic degree programs are open to men and women of any background who demonstrate capacity for English reading, writing, and higher learning.

A Global Mission

We invite students of every faith and background to join us. Our doors are open to anyone who seeks truth, knowledge, and excellence. Through AMISUN, we aspire to make America not only a champion of academic freedom, but also a global leader in producing outstanding Islamic scholars who can speak with wisdom, humility, and authority in today’s world.
